Pakistan beat West Indies by 65 runs in ICC Women's World Cup Qualifier
Pakistan Women delivered a clinical performance to defeat West Indies by 65 runs in a low-scoring encounter at the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier at Gaddafi Stadium on 关键字1Monday, marking their third consecutive victory in the tournament.
Batting first, Pakistan set a modest target of 192, anchored by a steady 54-run innings from Sidra Amin. Opening batter Muneeba Ali contributed 33 from 60 deliveries, while Sidra Nawaz and Aliya Riaz added 23 and 20 runs respectively.
West Indies’ bowlers kept the scoring in check, with Hayley Matthews, Karishma Ramharack, and Afy Fletcher each claiming a wicket. Ashmini Munisar and Aaliyah Alleyne also chipped in with one wicket apiece.
Despite a disciplined bowling effort, the West Indies batting line-up crumbled under pressure. They were bowled out for just 126 runs, with only Aaliyah Alleyne (22) and Shabika Gajnabi (21) reaching double figures.
Pakistan captain Nida Dar played a vital role with the ball, taking three wickets to lead the attack. She was supported by Rameen Shamim and Nashra Sandhu, who claimed two wickets each. Sadia Iqbal picked up one.
Sidra Amin was named Player of the Match for her composed half-century, which laid the foundation for Pakistan’s defendable total.
“This win boosts our momentum and brings us closer to qualifying for the main tournament,” said Amin following the match.
With earlier wins over Ireland and Scotland, Pakistan significantly improving their chances of securing a place in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.
